30 SECONDS TO MARS

I was really anticipating high energy and a great performance. Jared just waked around in a weird sheet like gown. No band, just drums. Very disappointing. Walk the Moon, however, killed it!! Great music, great vocals, high energy!!! Tons of fun!! They were definitely the highlight of the evening!!

A LITTLE DISAPPOINTING

As a long time fan of 30 Seconds, I was expecting the same kind of performance from Jared Leto as last year’s tour with the Muse, so I felt a greater distance from the artist, specially because, unlike last year, he stayed on the main stage all the time. Maybe it is the absence of Tomo. As for the other sets, Walk The Moon was my favorite performance of the whole concert. Fun, energetic, couldn’tstop danicing.

30 SECONDS TO MARS

I was disappointed from the very beginning you can't walk out on stage and try to be Freddie Mercury. Asking people to sing with you right off the bat. Seemed kind of bossy, get up, sing, dance etc. Most of it was prerecorded. I really love their new songs and was looking forward to seeing them live. I dont feel like thats what I got.

LAZY PERFORMANCE

I like the music of 30STM, but Jared actually sang very little, rather letting the audience sing the songs for him. Also, telling people to come up on stage knowing security would stop them. Not cool. Walk the Moon was fantastic! Such an energetic show & spot on performance. They sang all their songs.

30 SECONDS TO MARS

I have never been to the Mattress Firm Amphitheater. Very nice venue. Free parking, short walk, beautiful theater. Wrong concert. Just to clarify, there were actually 3 band members on stage. Most people didn't notice the bass player. Drums, bass, vocalist and the most talented member of the band, the board operator. Lead guitar sounded good, synthesisor-keyboards were good, backup vocals were good. Too bad they were all prerecorded. This was more like a pep rally then a live concert. He'd spend 10 minutes pulling people out of the crowd. Don't bring your kids. He sounded like a teenager that just learned the 'f' word. Walk the Moon needs to break away from this terrible headlining band. By the way, the amphitheater was only half full and no one wanted an encore.

PHONE IT IN

Seems like this is a hobby for Jered. Lots of wasted time bringing people on stage to jump around. Played less than an hour and a half, no encore. No passion. Stick to acting.

1 DRUMMER, 1 SINGER, AND RECORDED MUSIC

There really was no band. Just a drummer live and Jared Leto singing. The rest of the music was recorded - basically piped in. That's not a live concert. Leto is a showman. He performs more than he sings. He asks the audience to scream, clap, jump, and vote numerous times for which side of the audience is louder. He also wastes time trying to find "crazy" people in the audience to come on stage. He really can't see many people in the audience. Also, he wants us to sing along with him or many times, just to sing a lot of a song instead of him. It was BS. But I think he loved it. Walk The Moon all played instruments, sang, and didn't have gimmicks like Jared Leto had. I wish they had played longer. They were real musicians!
